TERMS & CONDITIONS, DISCLAIMERS & POLICIES

1. Legal Status & Purpose

The Good Paw Project CIC (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a community interest company registered in England and Wales.

Our purpose is to provide community-based support to pet owners through fundraising, education, access to pet food and supplies, and general nutrition guidance, subject to available resources.
Nothing within these terms creates a legal entitlement to goods, services, or ongoing support.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, purchasing goods, entering raffles, making donations, requesting or receiving support, or engaging with our educational content, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

3. Scope of Services

These terms apply to all activities operated by The Good Paw Project, including but not limited to:

  • Sale of gift boxes and merchandise

  • Fundraising activities and donation appeals

  • Raffles, prize draws, and competitions

  • Distribution of donated or purchased pet food and supplies

  • Free nutrition guidance and educational materials

  • Website use, downloads, forms, and communications

4. Distribution of Pet Food & Supplies

4.1 Nature of Distribution

Pet food and supplies distributed by The Good Paw Project are provided:

  • On a discretionary basis

  • Subject to availability of stock and funding

  • Without charge or at subsidised cost

  • Without guarantee of continuity or suitability

Provision of food or supplies does not create an obligation to continue support.

4.2 Eligibility & Allocation

We reserve the sole discretion to determine:

  • Eligibility for support

  • Quantity, frequency, and type of items provided

  • Duration of any assistance

Support may be prioritised based on assessed need, safeguarding concerns, stock availability, and operational capacity.

4.3 Responsibility for Feeding & Use

All food and supplies are provided “as is”. By accepting food or supplies, recipients acknowledge that:

  • The Good Paw Project does not provide veterinary or medical advice

  • No individual dietary assessment has been undertaken unless expressly stated

  • Recipients remain solely responsible for ensuring suitability for their pet

  • Veterinary advice should be sought where a pet has medical conditions, allergies, or special dietary needs

  • We accept no liability for adverse outcomes arising from feeding decisions or product use.

4.4 Donated & Surplus Stock

Food and supplies may include:

  • Donated items from third parties

  • Surplus stock

  • Short-dated items (distributed within safety guidelines)

All items are handled in good faith.

We follow all applicable pet food safety regulations and will not distribute any item that is known to be unsafe or past its “use by” date.

While reasonable care is taken, we cannot guarantee manufacturer warranties or original packaging integrity.

 

5. Free Nutrition Guidance Disclaimer

Any nutrition guidance provided by The Good Paw Project:

  • Is general information only

  • Does not constitute veterinary advice

  • Is not a personalised feeding plan for your pet

  • Does not replace professional diagnosis or treatment

  • No advice provided should be relied upon for managing medical conditions

Pet owners remain fully responsible for feeding decisions and outcomes.

Always seek the advice of a qualified veterinarian for any specific health concerns or dietary requirements your pet may have.

6. Educational Content Disclaimer

All educational materials, including blogs, guides, calculators, PDFs, social media content, and downloads:

  • Are provided for general informational purposes

  • Reflect knowledge available at the time of publication

  • May not be suitable for all dogs or circumstances

We disclaim all liability arising from misuse, misinterpretation, or reliance on such content.

7. Gift Boxes & Product Sales

7.1 Product Nature

Products sold by The Good Paw Project are intended to support fundraising and awareness objectives. Products do not claim to provide health, medical, or therapeutic benefits.

7.2 Orders, Delivery & Refunds

Dispatch times are indicative only.

Refunds & Returns: We comply fully with UK consumer protection laws. If a product is faulty, not as described, or bought at a distance, you are entitled to a refund or replacement – including a 14-day right to cancel an online purchase (subject to any statutory exceptions). Except as required by law, purchases made as part of fundraising (e.g. donation rewards) are non-refundable. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Fundraising-linked purchases may not be refundable except where legally required.

8. Raffles, Lotteries & Competitions

8.1 Compliance

All raffles are conducted in accordance with applicable UK legislation and Gambling Commission guidance relating to exempt or small society fundraising activities.

Where required, we will obtain any necessary licences or registrations (for example, for online or larger-scale lotteries) in compliance with the Gambling Act 2005.

8.2 Entry Conditions

  • Entrants must be 18 years or older

  • Entry requirements and deadlines will be clearly stated

  • Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable unless stated

8.3 Winner Selection

Winners are selected fairly. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within the stated timeframe, an alternative winner may be chosen.

9. Donations & Fundraising

9.1 Donations

All donations are voluntary and non-refundable unless required by law.

9.2 Use of Funds

Funds raised may be used for:

  • Purchasing pet food and supplies

  • Educational and outreach materials

  • Operational costs necessary to deliver services

We make no guarantee that donations will benefit specific individuals or animals.

10. Sponsors & Supporters

10.1 Nature of Support

Sponsors and supporters may contribute via:

  • Financial donations

  • Product donations

  • Services or in-kind support

  • Event hosting or promotion

Support does not imply control, endorsement, or partnership unless explicitly agreed in writing.

10.2 No Endorsement Clause

Reference to sponsors, supporters, or donated products does not constitute:

  • Nutritional endorsement

  • Product recommendation

  • Guarantee of quality or suitability

Any views expressed remain those of The Good Paw Project unless otherwise stated.

10.3 Sponsor Liability

Sponsors and supporters bear no responsibility for:

  • Allocation or distribution decisions

  • Outcomes for recipients

  • Advice provided by The Good Paw Project

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Good Paw Project disclaims all liability for loss, injury, damage, or expense arising from:

  • Use of our website or materials

  • Receipt or use of food, products, or supplies

  • Reliance on advice or educational content

  • Participation in raffles or fundraising activities

However, we do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which cannot be excluded by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

12. Safeguarding & Conduct

We are committed to inclusive, respectful, and non-judgemental support.
We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse service

  • Withdraw support

  • Restrict access

Where behaviour is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate.

13. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and materials are the intellectual property of The Good Paw Project unless stated otherwise.
Unauthorised reproduction, resale, or distribution is prohibited.

14. Privacy & Data Protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over your data (such as access, correction, or deletion). We only use your personal information for the purposes outlined and with a proper legal basis for processing.

15. Amendments

We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time. Updated terms will apply once published.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes shall be subject to UK jurisdiction.
